Mental Health Support GroupNAMI Connections Support Group - This group is for people living with mental illness. We offer a safe and confidential environment. We give you a place to express yourself and receive support without being judged. We offer the opportunity to be in the same room with other folks with mental illness. Of which, they may be in a very similar circumstance as you. This group is just one component of good mental health.Family and Loved Ones Support Group - The goal of this support group is to help the family members and/or loved ones of a person with mental illness through encouraging discussion and hope from other family members in managing your life and helping your loved one with mental illness.For both groups, NAMI Cabarrus offers a safe and confidential place to share your thoughts and feelings in a non-judgmental atmosphere. We offer the opportunity for you to be in the same room with those who are in very similar circumstances as you.The NAMI Family-to-Family Education Program is a free 12-week course for family caregivers of individuals with severe mental illnesses. The course is taught by trained family members. Focusing on care for the caregiver: coping with worry, stress, and emotional overload. Guidance on locating appropriate supports and services within the community. Information on advocacy initiatives designed to improve and expand services.We hope you will join us.
