Medi Assist is the largest TPA (Third Party Administrator) in India. It is spread over 20 locations over 1500 employees handling Rs. 1500 crores of premium with over 3500 corporate clients. I have been given the mandate to transition the operations to global service standards and build a more professional corporate selling team. During my tenure both revenues and margins have grown substantially. I implemented Salesforce for sales effort optimisation. I have played a key role in reengineering the claims platform for the organisation.

I run the India Delivery Center for Apollo Health Street. This role carries responsibility of delivery of 80% of the 3000+ global workforce across all verticals. All local support functions also report into myself.In addition, I head the Quality function globally for AHS. I lead a team of Black Belts who spearhead quality improvement across the organization using LEAN and 6-sigma methodologies. I am a big proponent of Net Promoter Score deployment to quantify customer satisfaction.I was part of the founding team of AHS responsible for setting up the BPO division which services primarily US-based Providers and Payers. Many of these processes were setup first-time from India (back in 2002) and hence faced significant challenges related to development of required domain expertise. The division has grown multifold since then – it now carries an annual revenue upwards of $100 million across 12 locations in India & US providing a wide array of professional services which range from:• Simple data entry processes like claims data entry, charge/ payment posting• Medium complexity processes like claims adjudication, provider matching, inbound helpdesk, provider verification• Highly complex (KPO) processes such as revenue cycle management, credentialing, provider recruitment, contracts management etc.• Front-end consulting services targeting process improvements, IT integration etc.I have been responsible for setting up the global delivery model, transitioning new business, ensuring consistent delivery and overall client satisfaction. Very early on I invested in building a high quality front-end team in US – responsible for onsite delivery as well as client engagement. The success of this team has contributed immensely to the growth of business. Under my leadership AHS achieved the #1 ranking in Black Book of Outsourcing for both Provider and Payer segments in 2008 – a ranking which is based purely on client feedback.

I was a co-founder of Emedlife Health Services – a TPA (Third Party Administrator) providing services in domestic healthcare space in India. Emedlife took shape in early 2000 and soon became a leader in its space. It was amongst the first in India to offer cashless hospitalization facility to corporate employees. It was the only TPA to provide a complete web-based platform for pre-authorisation, claims reimbursement and other services to its clients. Within 18 months the company was acquired by Apollo Hospitals Group via its subsidiary Apollo Health Street (AHS).

I worked for initial years of my career with Citibank in the Operations & Technology division. There I experienced first hand the power of technology to transform business processes - I setup the first data warehouse for Citibank. I helped develop financial IT applications for Citibank globally for eg. I ran the delivery for rolling out the first internet based mortgage application for Citibank in Latin America. I was part of the team achieving SEI-CMM certification for Internal IT team of Citibank (which was later on merged with Citicorp Overseas Software Ltd).
