"Everybody should learn to program a computer, because it teaches you how to think."This aphorism by Steve Jobs sounds as profound today as it did in 1995. It's funny, because my dream is to one day become a published writer and probably retire as a teacher. As such, I must be a bayesian bibliophile; an individual not content with strict definitions of identities and career paths, but who rather constantly seeks clarity, efficiency, and knowledge. I believe in being informed and demonstrating it through clear explanations.I derive so much inspiration from Steve. As a brilliant technologist, he was as eccentric as was his product sense. He imagined a world no one had yet dreamt of, created products humanity never imagined it would live without, and for all intents and purposes, delivered to us the personal computer as we know it today. This, for me, was the pull. If Steve, all self taught, redefined how we create and share our stories, I could too. And here I am, a never ceasing student, aspiring teacher, self-taught engineer, dreamer.This profile documents what is perhaps the journey of a student who treats every space as a classroom, every conversation as a lesson and every assignment as an excuse to learn. With primal aptitude in STEM, I am here today, refined to be impactful in tech - and perhaps education - because I have been through all the hops that it takes to grow. As a brief highlight:1. Computer Castles Ltd taught me the true fundamentals and principles of software engineering. They gave me an assignment, an internet connection and threw me to the deep end. I researched and built, shared workspaces and collaborated, engaged stake holders and sold products. I developed from being a boy to a young man. I left a leader.2. Proto Energy Ltd demanded that I develop into an expert. They needed to sell gas and needed to sell it fast. Here I understood the fundamentals of scale, efficiency, extreme performance and delivering on mission critical assignments. I built software that monitors a million moving parts, enriches a cross section of livelihoods and contributes to sustainable development. I left an industry senior.3. DVT demands that I collaborate both synchronously and asynchronously in cross-functional teams, contribute, and create value in cross-cultural setups with colleagues spread across the globe. Here I can measure my progress against brilliant and way more accomplished professionals, who, as I gather, I measure up to.Please connect with me, because one day I will start telling stories, and you want a front row seat to that!
