• Design and delivery quality mental health and family support services for assigned children and adolescent who are diagnosed with serious emotional disturbances. These responsibilities include the development of needs and services plans, the development of discharge plans, and ongoing assessments to identify changing needs.• Work with the treatment team (wraparound) in order to help the children and adolescent analyze and better understand his/her situation and the reason for placement. My responsibilities as a Family Service Associate includes, assisting families in the development of Family Partnership Goals, follow up, assess family needs, provide recommendation and referral for community resources, collaborate with community and other agencies to support children and families, intervene in families during times of crisis, investigating, interviewing and documenting information on the client in order to achieve positive change. Other duties, in the office of social service includes, coordinating with Mental Health, Nutrition, and Disability and Food Service department.

When I worked for Department of Children Service I enjoyed providing services and support to children and families in need and locate relatives and foster families for abused and neglected children who cannot safely remain in their homes. I was especially grateful providing numerous support services and innovative programs to help and strengthen troubled families. In providing these services, I was very fortunate working all the social workers, the Intake, Carrier and Practitioner with child welfare cooperatively with other organizations, community services agencies, the schools and the courts. This experience helped me to develop my empathetic listening skills which gave me a better understanding of the duties that a social work carries out. As I investigate the case I gather information, making home visit, developing safety plans with the family, identifying relatives and making collateral contact. I also learn the techniques to empower and help children recover from their experience. At times, the investigation may result in removing children in cases where they cannot safely remain in the home. I was given also given case management task to carry out. The case management experiences enable me to see how cases are carrying out day to day and interacting with families on phone. I was able to place children in a safe environment.
