Holding a bachelor’s degree in biology from Colegio Bandeirantes and an MD from Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Sao Paulo in Brazil, Dr. Nana Mimura completed her USMLE 1, 2, and 3 within two years of graduating. After undertaking a medical missionary trip, she began her postgraduate training at Wayne State University. She focused her training on internal medicine and earned her Michigan medical license a few years before going into practice. Upon finishing her training, Dr. Nana Mimura accepted two simultaneous roles, one as a staff physician at St. John Macomb Hospital and the other at Schoenherr Medical Associates, where she provided primary care to a geriatric population.Dedicated to advancing her experience and knowledge, Dr. Mimura spent a year at the Research Institute for Dementia Disorders, helping the patients who participated in the institute’s various clinical trials. She also completed an integrative and regenerative medicine course and earned her Florida medical license.In 2013, Dr. Nana Mimura’s exceptional level of care earned her the Vitals Compassionate Doctor Award. Currently, she serves as a board-certified physician with IPC Healthcare. In this capacity, Dr. Mimura provides internal medical care to geriatric patients in nursing, independent living, and assisted living facilities throughout Naples and Fort Myers, Florida.
