Nancie Marzulla is an accomplished and zealous advocate for business and property owners in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and in federal district courts. Nancie has successfully represented property owners in complex litigation in taking and contract claims against the federal government in cases often involving substantial sums at stake. She is a founding partner of Marzulla Law, LLC in Washington, D.C. Nancie served as President of the Court of Federal Claims Bar Association, and has received numerous awards from the Court, including the first Randolph Thrower award, and the Golden Eagle award. Nancie has been recognized by her peers as a Best Lawyer for over a decade, and selected as a Super Lawyer for many years. She has helped draft legislation and testified in Congress, before regulatory agencies, and in state legislatures on a variety of property, water, and environmental matters. She has also authored numerous articles on property and environmental issues, and has appeared on numerous radio and television appearances discussing Supreme Court decisions involving property rights , environmental, and water law, and she has been invited to lectured at ABA-sponsored continuing legal education courses and other legal events. She has drafted many articles on property rights issues and coauthored the book, Property Rights: Understanding Government Takings and Environmental Regulation.Nancie's legal career began as a trial attorney and attorney/advisor at the U.S. Department of Justice, and later as a litigator at Verner, Liipfert (now DLA Piper), where she litigated complex airline and other civil matters. She also helped found Defenders of Property Rights, a nonprofit legal foundation, and served as its President for over a decade.
