I love to work with imaginative, capable, lively people, and I have always found plenty of them in the technical world. In the course of my career, I've enjoyed working in various technologies, including power engineering, financial compliance, financial trade automation, biotechnology and laboratory automation, and videoconferencing.Technical communication gets information to people who need it. Great technical communication provides information that is findable, recognizable, accurate, and usable. --Findable: It doesn't matter how great your content is, if no one can locate it.--Recognizable: It also doesn't matter if your user finds the correct chapter, page, or topic, if the answer they seek is obscured in some way and they never locate it.--Accurate: An initially great help system, app, or manual loses credibility as it becomes outdated. A flexible, responsive publication platform is essential to maintain accuracy and preserve your customer's confidence in your communications.--Usable: Knowing what to document is as important as knowing how to develop technical content. Wasting resources on content that no one uses is a painful mistake; so is developing a needed topic but failing to provide the solution the customer is looking for.I love thinking about meaning and how to present it effectively. I enjoy identifying end user concerns, working with subject matter experts, beating up on beta software and hardware, and designing and creating information products.
