President 2017-2018, American Pharmacists Association-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Prior to joining the R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy - Phoenix Campus, The University of Arizona, I was a founding leader at Chapman University School of Pharmacy. Before that, I worked for over a decade in the pharmaceutical industry. I developed and led the medical information function at Endo Health Solutions (formerly known as Endo Pharmaceuticals) starting in 2001. Prior to Endo, I worked for Hospice Pharmacia (soon after its inception, now known as excelleRx) where innovative, pharmacist-delivered patient care to optimize the use of medications for symptoms experienced by individuals approaching the end of life. I also provided education and training for pharmacists who were engaged in the management of these patients. My career started in community pharmacy practice at Walgreen’s, where I led a small team of pharmacists and technicians as a pharmacy manager. I have written book chapters on pain topics and am actively involved in leader development as a content developer, facilitator and board member for the Pharmacy Leadership and Education Institute. I am board certified in pharmacotherapy from the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties. My Doctor of Pharmacy degree is from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. I served two terms on the APhA Board of Trustees before becoming a presidential officer. I am a past president of the Phi Lambda Sigma National Leadership Society and a past Grand Vice President for Collegiate Affairs for the Phi Delta Chi Fraternity. I am certified co-active coach, as well.
