High Speed Rail Book Authors!
CurrentAuthor Emy Louie is the director of public outreach for the United States High Speed Rail Association (USHSR), a national non-profit that aims to help build public, business, and political support for a nationwide high speed rail system. Along with co-author, entrepreneur and ad agency director Nancy Bolts, their book Fast Trains three months after its recent release became one of the top best-selling books in its category on Amazon.com. A major marketing campaign is underway promoting the book and Emy Louie enjoyed an opportunity to speak about the book at the HSR Conference in Los Angeles.“Our book is now a nice addition to furthering this cause why so many of us in the transportation industry are at this major conference on high speed rail,” she said. “I’m not here so much to sell books but to sell the idea and opportunity of high speed rail and to passionately let people know that it is a solution to climate change, for creating jobs and stabilizing our economy, and for ending our energy crisis and dependence on oil.” The book was inspired in part by the tremendous surge of popularity, interest, and ridership in rail travel in the last couple years as Americans across the country overwhelmingly support the advancements and needed investment in public transportation. One such indication of this renewed popularity in train travel is Amtrak issuing a recent report that it currently is experiencing the highest level of ridership in its 50-year history.“Fast Trains” received an enthusiastic endorsement at the conference and Emy Louie is delighted that her and Nancy Bolts’ new book can be integral to bringing high speed rail to all of America!
