I have been on the Auburn City Council since July 2003, and the Deputy Mayor since January 1, 2012. I have proven my ability to lead and to build consensus for the overall good of our City. I act on the Mayor's behalf when he is unavailable, am the liaison between the Mayor and Council, and I have the opportunity to meet with and hear from the citizens that I represent. I am proud of the work that I do as the team leader for the Auburn City Council - mentoring and also learning from them! I travelled to Gdynia, Poland to work with 11 Polish, Russian and American students. I was part of a team that helped teach the students the fundamentals of business - including strategic planning, teamwork and leadership. Working with students from different countries made me realize that kids are the same everywhere - excited, full of dreams and desires, and I was thrilled to play a part in their development!
