Responsible for administering a comprehensive human resource program for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank ensuring methods and practices were progressive and up-to-date. Administered all State and Federal laws and regulations including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and OSHA. Established and administered the classification and compensation system, recruitment and retention program, performance and evaluation process and training program. Administered all benefits including health, retirement, leave, workers’ compensation, flexible benefits, life insurance, employee assistance program and deferred compensation. Managed employee relations area including standards of conduct, mediation and grievance. Wrote and ensured compliance of all personnel policies and procedures.

Responsible for the evaluation of classification requests from all University Department personnel. Position entailed desk and field audits, evaluation of position duties, comparison to class specification and other internal and external positions, making recommendations for allocation, writing audit reports and processing paperwork for changes. Conducted workshops on writing position descriptions, consulted with departments on reorganization and reclassification of positions and provided management with requested information, interpretation of policies and procedures.

Responsible for filling classified salary and wage positions. Consulted with departments regarding employment needs, developed advertisements, analyzed applicant qualifications, referred top applicants for interviews and made salary determination. Responsible for monitoring EEO-AA policies and procedures and advising departments on proper application of regulations. Developed and presented workshops on resume writing and interviewing skills. Represented the University at recruiting events.
