Career EHS professional with a proven record of environmental, safety, health and security program improvements and safety culture change in a variety of work environments. By focusing on leading indicators and encouraging cross functional collaborative engagement within a continuous improvement framework, I led my workplaces to achieve reduced incident rates, incident related costs and lower overall risk. I customized relevant training for all levels of personnel to improve hazard recognition and understanding of risk control measures which resulted in improved rates of compliance and motivated employees to proactively report unsafe conditions and behaviors then interact with management and engineering to implement corrective actions. I ensured regulatory compliance and drove implementation of best practices for environmental programs addressing air emissions, waste storage and handling, waste water treatment, storm water discharge, chemical storage/processing and recycling.
Listed skills include Risk Management, Risk Assessment, Ehs, Training, and 16 others.

I managed the EHS, training and security programs in a 600,000 sq. ft. facility that manufactured broadloom carpet for the hospitality and retail markets. Plant operations included warping, tufting, dyeing, coating and two warehouses with about 400 employees working three shifts 5 to 7 days per week. I had four direct reports: 3 Trainers and 1 EHS Technician. My efforts to drive safety cultural change in this older facility included the introduction of team/plant safety scorecards, improved training/communication and more frequent auditing and MOC risk assessments. Also, I focused on reducing risk by implementing improvements to existing lockout, machine safeguarding, confined space, ergonomic and powered industrial truck safety programs. This position was eliminated during significant operational downsizing due to Covid-19 related impacts to our primary markets as well as changing flooring preferences.
I worked as part of a team of three Corporate EHS Engineers reporting to an out of state EHS Director. The manufacturing operations included two toner plants and two thermal paper processing plants running 24/7 with about 350 employees. Toner operations involved the manufacture of black toner/developer as well as the toner bottles and components. Black and imported colored toner was filled into these bottles on very automated lines then packaged and warehoused. Thermal paper operations included a R & D lab, chemical mixing, 3 coating lines, roll slitting and warehousing. All facilities were ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified and followed OHSAS 18001 systems for safety. All sites operated under a Zero Waste to Landfill program. As part of the EHS team I developed, implemented and administered environmental, health and safety programs for the various plants and ensured compliance with internal and external requirements.
