- Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English that meet state and federal standards- Provide instruction that is consistent and coordinated with the district’s/school’s instructional program so as to ensure that students meet and exceed learning targets- Address all aspects of communication through appropriate instruction that develops each student’s ability to read, write, speak, and listen in the appropriate content area- Administer academic and language assessments for the purpose of evaluating student progress for meeting academic learning targets and progress in language acquisition- Maintain complete and accurate records of student progress, evidence of growth, and progress- Provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment that encourages student responsibility and incorporates challenging instructional strategies- Adapt curriculum to provide individual, small group, and/or remedial instruction as to meet the needs of individual students

Selected as one of 5% of applicants to join a competitive Fellowship of high-potential and dedicated college graduates and professionals who commit three years to teach in under-resourced public schools. Participated in 30 hours of an intensive new-educator training program to develop the skills and knowledge needed to achieve significant gains in student achievement and define my personal education philosophy. Engage in continued professional development for the next 3 years, including explicit training in “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion,” seminars, protocols, and professional learning teams for new urban educators. Commitment to completing steps to become a certified NY State teacher, including all prep work needed for success on teacher certification exams and successful completion of EdTPA.

• Charged with leadership of the NYC School of Education• Determines program needs and allocates resources of staff and materials• Provides leadership developing comprehensive programs as well as implementing these programs• Participates in regional and state meetings pertaining to state policies and student support services

• Processes all certification recommendations to the state for each graduated student• Manage all office functions of the School of Education NY Department• Provide valuable assistance to the Chair in all matters related to the department• Maintain departmental budgets; administer all department purchase requisitions, process all travel• Coordinate award ceremonies, student events, dinners, and other special events

• Assist the Chair and Faculty• Manage 2 school budgets and 2 grant budgets• Manage Front Desk to ensure high quality of attention is given to our visitors• Hire, track, and supervise student aides, student assistants, and graduate assistants• Coordinate media, space, food, and setup for special events and meetings• Maintain course information, faculty assignments, and faculty loads
