JA British Columbia (JABC or Junior Achievement of BC) is a non profit organization proud to deliver a wide selection of educational programs focusing on financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship. JABC is a member of of JA Canada and JA Worldwide and has been a leader in youth business education programs for almost 65 years.Through partnerships with educators and volunteers from local businesses, JABC offers important interactive, hands-on learning experiences to students in all communities across British Columbia. All programs align with B.C.’s new curriculum and are provided free of charge to schools thanks to the generosity of JABC donors and sponsors.

The Faculty of Science at SFU provides an outstanding learning and research environment to its 5,500 graduate and undergraduate students, and 260 faculty members.Nancy worked in collaboration with the Dean of Science and faculty members in building meaningful relations with individuals, corporations and foundations interested in supporting innovative teaching, cutting-edge research and Science outreach programs.

SFU's Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology is the place where creativity meets new technology, science meets art and design encounters new media. FCAT embodies the spirit of teaching and research of the 21st century, by providing a creative and collaborative environment to its 2,500 students in different programs and schools.As the Advancement Director, Nancy supported the Dean and faculty members in building meaningful relationships with industry partners, individuals and foundations supporting students, research and community outreach.

As a member of UBC’s Development team, Nancy contributed to the institutional efforts to build and maintain long-term relationships with philanthropic individuals, foundations and corporations. Philanthropic contributions play an instrumental role in building the margin of excellence at UBC. Nancy's work was aligned with the mission of the College for Interdisciplinary Studies, which was to build a collaborative environment for interdisciplinary research and education looking at complex issues from a policy relevant, collaborative and community engaged perspective.

In Paraguay, Nancy served for seven years as executive director of the Fundación Moisés Bertoni para la Conservación de la Naturaleza, the country’s leader organization in biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. With a team of 68 professional biologists, agronomists, sociologists, economists, and administrative staff, she helped increase the total of privately owned forests and wildlife protected areas in Paraguay by 70,000 hectares, and designed, implemented, and monitored community projects that benefited 760 indigenous and farmer families. Nancy also led the creation of the National Wetlands Committee towards the implementation of the Ramsar Convention for wetlands conservation, and orchestrated the process towards the recognition of the Mbaracayú Forest and the Upper Jejui River Watershed as first Biosphere Reserve in Paraguay by UNESCO in November 2000.

Nancy worked as general manager for Centro de Cooperación Empresarial y Desarrollo Industrial, Paraguay, where she negotiated business alliances between local and European companies and chaired the General Secretariat of the Latin-American Industrial Exchange Network, with the support of UNDP, UNIDO and the European Commission.
