Experienced Financial Aid Director and Retail Manager. Served Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in the Office of Financial Aid for 15 years. My first role in the office was secretary. Then receive two promotions: Assistant Director and Director. In this capacity I was responsible for creating and maintaining budget and financial records of more than 400 endowed scholarship accounts with an excess of $1 million annually in scholarships for students. Supervised staff processes of private student loans, verification of enrollment, donor receipts, annual banquet, and annual letters of appreciation to donors. Communicated with prospective students regarding scholarship opportunities. Changed career paths when an opportunity arose to pursue a management position at Walmart. Spent 10 years in management where I was also promoted to a higher management position. At Walmart my duties included managing between 20 to 100 associates regarding schedules, routines and daily notes in all areas of the store. Trained and developed direct reports regarding diversity, compliance, handling associate issues, hiring, processes and procedures. Also designated as the Crowd Management Coordinator several years by the store manager in which I supervised, organized and trained associates regarding “The Event” popularly known as Black Friday. Skilled in customer service, teaching and training employees regarding changing company policy and procedures, managing scholarship funds, adhering to scholarship requirements designated by donors.
