As a nationally trained and certified SciGirls trainer, I offer gender-equitable STEM opportunities for girls aged 8-13. I have conducted national trainings for educators, after-school providers, and classroom teachers, using the SciGirls Strategies to engage girls in science and engineering effectively. These research-based strategies dismantle gender and cultural barriers, encouraging hands-on investigations and role models to spark exploration. I've collaborated with schools and after-school programs to implement SciGirls programming, impacting numerous girls and educators. Helped to design and bring a teaching biotech lab to Roberson Museum. This lab educated students and the public on emerging DNA research and education through hands on inquiry and computer simulations. Activities included analyzing historic DNA forensics, Gel electrophoresis, DNA and RNA replication and general biology. Collaborated with Cold Springs Harbor on lab design and curriculum. Worked with the Binghamton City Police Department to create a dynamic and realistic forensics program based on real techniques, crimes and evidence. Worked closely with exhibition team to design exhibits in alignment with anthropological findings around emerging evidence of pre and homo sapiens.
