And I really enjoyed working with Bob Leclair, the Assessor. He had a nice dry sense of humor and very gentlemanly way about him that made me feel at ease. And, as he had been with the town for over 18 years at that time, he knew all about the area and was a great teacher. Between his knowledge, the training opportunities, and the archives available to me as an Asst. Assessor (I won't abbreviate that title more haha :-) I learned a lot about the town while I worked there. And I had the nicest office in my opinion - 2nd floor on the west side with a view of the street and the green. I have to say, I did love getting to know the town and the history, not to mention the fellow Assessing community and the current residents that would stop in the Town Hall! Adored meeting all of them. And my co-workers were beyond reproach - most wonderful people and still friends to this day.I was also privileged to attend further training at UMASS Amherst and to attend many MA Assessor meetings in my time with the town.
