Organize events and meetings for industry partners of a University of Kansas research center. The CEBC conducts research to invent cleaner, safer, energy-efficient chemical technologies that protect the planet and human health. This mission is augmented through the involvement of industry partners in the chemical and fuels sectors. My role is to facilitate large gatherings of the entire membership as well as to help plan and organize collaborative meetings between specific partners and researchers. As personnel coordinator, I manage all functions of hiring and maintaining CEBC research personnel, student and postdoctoral personnel, and staff. These functions include working with University of Kansas human relations and international programs staff in areas including hiring searches, obtaining and maintaining visas for international employees, and facilitating time reporting.

Coordinated accounts receivable and payable for concrete contractor; managed QuickBooks; assisted with bidding as well as billing; administrated company health insurance; served as contact point for personnel issues including work comp, unemployment claims, garnishments, etc.

Copywriting for all promotions of the University of Kansas Alumni Association; contributions to Kansas Alumni Magazine including Jayhawk Generations, Distinguished Service Citation and Ellsworth Medallion recipients.

Assisted start-up specialty telecommunications company with all aspects of product development, promotions, public relations and management. The Time Machine was a pioneer in pre-paid calling cards and obtained a patent for greeting cards containing a pre-paid calling card.

Assisted CEO of medical products manufacturing company with oral and written communications; insured that corporate trademarks were maintained, both within the company and through sales and marketing vehicles; gave presentations at company sales meetings; designed and wrote company newsletter, corporate reports and product sheets.

Worked with 30 daily newspapers and over 200 weekly newspapers throughout Kansas to promote newspaper advertising; served as sales representative to promote Kansas newspaper advertising to numerous midwestern markets; assisted advertising staff of daily and weekly newspapers to convert to desktop publishing methods and conducted seminars and workshops throughout the state in sales and advertising strategies as well as desktop publishing software training.

Developed copy for all Simon Advertising clients, including banks, tractor companies, retail businesses, corporate clients, the Kansas Film Commission and Kansas Travel & Tourism. Writing included print, radio and television advertising. Won several Addy Awards for copy including Best of Show for Kansas Travel & Tourism brochure. As media coordinator, created annual media plans for Commerce Bank, Martin Tractor Company, Kansas Film Commission and Kansas Travel & Tourism. Served as production manager for all radio and television ads for all clients.
