The DeVetter Firm specializes in criminal record expungement (known as record restriction in Georgia). We also provide wills and estate planning, probate litigation, landlord-tenant, and other civil cases.

• Proud to head GLSP's Re-Entry and Record Restriction Project. I won Step Up Savannah’s 2016 Teinique Gadson Advocacy Award for this project. I represent clients obtaining expungements, pardons, Retroactive First Offender Treatment, and other post-conviction relief. I provide regular education and training in this area.• Impact work - Worked with ACLU to end the City of Savannah's discriminatory housing policies. Federal litigation against the State of Georgia for ADA violations. Chair of statewide work group committee to improve State of Georgia communications. • Successful representation of over 200 clients in government benefits cases (Medicaid, Social Security, SNAP, UIB) and post-conviction relief. Provided advice or brief service to over 800 additional clients.• Litigation experience in state and administrative court actions, federal impact litigation, and amicus briefs for the Georgia Supreme Court• Non-litigation advocacy through Open Records Act requests, media outreach, and collaboration with state and non-state actors

• Created and implemented administrative appeals clinic with Emory law school. Trained and supervised 19 law students to provide brief service and representation to litigants in food stamp appeals. • Represented over 200 clients in family law, consumer law, bankruptcy, housing, government benefits, and special education cases in state and administrative courts. Provided advice or brief service to over 2000 additional clients.• Litigation experience included extensive discovery, motions practice, mediation, negotiations, drafting settlement agreements, bench trials and one jury trial. Appellate work consisted of respondent’s briefs for an appeal to the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court and multiple administrative appeals with oral argument in Superior Court. • Manager of ALAS’s Summer Intern Program. Selected and vetted summer candidates; implemented summer program.
