I am an Associate Professor at the Center of Excellence in Forensic Nursing at Texas A&M Health in Bryan-College Station, Texas. I teach in the MSN Forensic Nursing program and conduct research on health outcomes associated with interpersonal violence. Currently projects in the Center of Excellence in Forensic Nursing include development of a Texas statewide telehealth forensic nursing consultation program, the Texas Teleforensic Remote Assistance Center, or Tex-TRAC. We are also educating nurses throughout the state to be forensic nurses, with a particular focus on rural and underserved areas, to increase access to high-quality, evidence-based and trauma-informed care for survivors of interpersonal violence. I also serve on the Texas Forensic Science Commission, whose mission is to advance the integrity and reliability of forensic science in Texas, I served on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Forensic Nurses and served as President in 2021.
