As a grandmother of 8 and a mother to 7, most of my life has been spent in the home or carting my children to sports or dance practices and competitions and managed the household finances. I decided to finish my Bachelor's degree online so I could still be home to raise my children. During this time, I have also been involved in church and community doing volunteer work. I have helped in the scouting program and earned my Wood Badge while teaching communication to the youth attending camps.I help raise money for special needs individuals as a board member of the Festival of Trees, over the baked goods section, where I recruit thousands of people to bake and donate their yummy treats to be sold to the public. I am good at organizing people that seem to be milling about so we can accomplish what needs to be done. I received a certificate in Administrative assistant and feel like I am good at taking charge of situations or crisis by keeping a level head and assessing the situation. After adopting 3 children, I felt like I needed some help and chose to change my minor from biology to Marriage and Family Studies. This change gave me a better understanding of the issues I was experiencing with my delayed children and has helped me to cope better and help others who are struggling as well.
