Nancy Gandy began her association with the oil and gas industry in December 1978, beginning two years as a title researcher for Hooks Title Company, in Kountze, Texas. She left Hooks TItle to work as a permitter for the seismic industry, and moved immediately into a position as a landman in the East Texas oil fields with a brief stint in 1982 to work as a Right of Way Agent for a Texaco pipeline through Southeast Texas. 1985 brought a slump in the industry, so back to Right of Way, and a powerline through New York and numerous pipelines. For years, Nancy and her son, Matt, saw the countryside while buying right of way for pipelines, powerlines, and fiber optic. In the 1990s, Nancy worked in both Right of Way, and then returned to Oil and Gas in California and later, back in Texas, in early 2001 where she remains today. In 2008, she began officially teaching the next generation of landmen the art and science of the petroleum landman. Nancy is a member of AAPL (#94117) and holds a Texas ERW license No. 981.
