Develop and implement communications strategies that address the needs of staff, students and stakeholders (internal and external) showcasing and sharing achievements and successes with media and members of the community. Produce news releases and announcements, publications and broadcasts in conjunction with media. Develop and lead communications projects including writing and editing, advertising, event promotion and development of publications and print materials. Manage a district website and support the management of 13 sub-sites. Use technology including smart phone and computer using word-processing, desktop publishing and social media programs and software to manage social media pages and support the management of the school sub-sites in accordance to the District Social Media Guidelines. Monitor and measure the effectiveness of those communications plan. Coordinate events. Exercise sound judgment and decision-making under strict time constraints and competing priorities. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Mentor and advise staff, providing sound and strategic communications advice and expertise including counsel on sensitive issues and crisis situations; provide speaking notes, briefing documents, media interview preparation, communications advice and background materials as required. Manage assigned projects within an established budget. Analyze and advise senior staff on emerging communication trends.
