The East African women in Business Platform (EAWiBP) draws its mandate from the Treaty for the establishment of EAC under Chapter 25 and Articles 121 and 122. • I Provided strategic leadership and good governance to the organization and implementation of the strategic goals, annual workplans and budgets.• Developed, Implemented and directed all activities at regional level.• Compliance and adherence to organization’s and donor policies, contracts, and agreements.• Stakeholders engagement with Ministries in each EAC partner state, local governments, EAC Secretariat, Donor Community, private sector, Civil Society, women organizations and enterprises.• Policy advocacy, communication and creating visibility.• Proposal and concept note writing for fundraising and working with consultants.• Participation of women SMEs in the EAC integration processes, women’s access to markets, entrepreneurship skills development and institutional capacity building of WEAs in EAC funded by Trade Mark East Africa.• Implementation of Moringa value chain project for women in agro-processing sector EAWiBP/IIDEA/IRTF project funded by GIZ.•Supported acquiring of grants for Shea butter value chains funded by Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) • Business advisory and disseminated trade information and business intelligence to business women in EAC and in particular “A Simplified Guide for Micro and Small Scale Women Cross Border Traders and Service Providers within the EAC”,• Regional Workshops on EAC Customs Regulations and Trade Regime aimed at sensitizing SMEs on EAC integration process and intra-EAC trade. EAC Customs Union Protocol and Common External Tariff; Trade negotiations on Economic Partnership Agreements between EAC and EU and Tripartite Free Trade Agreement; Rights and Freedoms established under the Common Market Protocol.

Chief Executive Officer | African Women’s entrepreneurship Program-AWEP Kenya Chapter and Secretary to the Board of Directors. My overall functions and responsibilities included:  Team performance management and strategic leadership to ensure proper projects implementation and performance was monitored regularly and compared to targets, deliverables, and budgets and all projects and activities were well managed so that they produced the contracted outcomes on time and in budgets.  I was accountable for full compliance with donor contracts, including all terms and conditions and reporting requirements.  I organized buyer missions to Kenya, trade exhibitions and B2B linkages for women traders.  Ensured effective functioning and operationalization of organizational structures, policies, processes and procedures to achieve strategic goals.Developed a sensitization and skills development program and trained over 1000 women companies in Kenya on African Growth Opportunities Act (AGOA).  Took led in analyzing of gender and social impacts of development projects and programmes in communities with a bias to inclusivity of vulnerable groups in different settings including women, the youth, children, people with disabilities, minorities and women survivors of gender-based violence (WSGBV). Developed a business start-up program and trained 30 women survivors of gender based violence to start small businesses. Took lead in stakeholders’ engagement, mobilization, alliance formation, facilitates collaborative processes and fundraising.
