About Nancy Godinez
Current DePaul University MENP student (Masters Entry of Level Nursing Program). I hold a bachelors in health sciences (bioscience concentration) and minor in bioethics and society. I have a strong interest in the research field, specifically looking at social determinants of health and educational attainment. Currently, I employed as an engagement assistant for University of Chicago's Institute for Population and Precision Health and a graduate mentor for the DePaul University McNair Scholars Program. In the future, I hope to conduct research revolving around youth resiliency in urban communities, social determinants of health in relation to urban planning, food insecurity, and educational attainment. I have taken interests in examining the socioeconomic factors relating to human health and policy development, in the hope of achieving health equity in my hometown of Chicago. Other research interests include environmental factors that impede human health, pediatric mental health, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), community safety, access to green space, health promotion, and effective mentoring for underrepresented students in higher education.
