I was the kid who wanted to do everything and, as an educator, I have been able to do so. As a result, I have yet to experience a boring day . "Teaching" (Science, being a Dean, coaching) has taught me these most valuable of skills: to work with students where they are, determine their needs and to be prepared every day to add value and meaning to their lives.I've worn many hats in my career-teacher (English, Vocabulary, Science, Logic, Study Skills), coach (six sports), and as a Dean (putting out fires but, more importantly, preventing them). My overall philosophy, no matter what I've done as an educator, has always been, "See everything, overlook a great deal, change a little!" I'm a seasoned educator, ready and willing to take on challenges. My professional value is wide-ranging:-I wrote the district and state Decathlon tests in California.-I was 1/3 finalists for the California Science Teacher of the year.-I have organized Field Days for schools with 500 students.-I am the calm one.-I wrote my school's Technology and Five Year plans.-I resolve issues and conflicts.-I have developed entirely new curriculums.-One of my varsity teams went from last in conference to state competition in one season.-I am willing to learn anything, and I love implementing new projects and ideas.--I inspire students to realize that they are a part of a global community, something bigger than themselves.I love making new professional acquaintances.
