I am a newly qualified registered nurse beginning my nursing career as a respiratory nurse on a busy ward looking after patients with both acute and chronic respiratory conditions. I have just completed my BSc Adult Nursing degree with honours, receiving a first class. I am looking to complete my masters once I have gained more experience and skills with the healthcare sector. My previous experience within healthcare began with working for the London Ambulance Service for six years as a 999 call handler and dispatcher, a community end of life carer for over a year where I then progressed and began working for bluebird care as a supervisor. I also volunteered and worked as a pathologist technician’s assistant, where I removed and prepared organs during post mortem so the pathologist could determine cause of death. I then had a career break as an army wife starting a family, where I then returned to work as a carer for Barchester care and then began my academic journey into nursing.
