In my role, I work closely with the engineering team to integrate newtechnologies, optimize our vendor selection, manage up-front costs, anddevelop new contract templates to ensure stability in development and supplychains.I spearhead innovative risk-mitigation and vendor management processes bycollaborating with teams across engineering, finance, legal, tax,compliance, HR, and information security. I also lead the MaterialReview Board to manage all defective inventory effectively.I've designed and implemented Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) andObjectives and Key Results (OKRs) to drive performance. Additionally, Iexpanded our planet's procurement operations, overseeing materials for bothspacecraft and ground operations through a dynamic team of buyers, globalsupply managers, logistics personnel, material program managers, and systemsengineers.I introduced a new procurement system for PCBs, incorporating comprehensiveturnkey solutions, which enhanced inventory traceability and reduced thepressure on our internal teams and processes. By securing cutting-edgeequipment and software tools, I've streamlined our inventory management,enhancing global visibility of necessary assets and inventory. Lastly, I devised a novel budgeting process in collaboration with the Finance team to prevent financial overruns and ensure we stay within our setbudgets.

I developed new methodologies for managing OKRs, introduced weekly updateson contract completion rates, and collaborated with Legal, InformationSecurity, and Engineering to create deal summary and risk analysistemplates. These innovations helped streamline executive decisions oncomplex, high-value contracts.In partnership with Voyage, I successfully finalized contracts andintegrated Voyage employees into the Cruise workforce. Additionally, Irecruited two attorneys and additional staff to enhance our IndirectProcurement capabilities across various departments, including Real Estate,Corporate Engineering, Compliance/Tax, Security, Software, Marketing, Legal,and Sales.I established and monitored KPIs and OKRs aligned with company and teamgoals, conducted quarterly assessments, and shared the results across theorganization. Leading a team of 12, I managed Indirect Procurementoperations with an annual budget exceeding $100 million.One of my key achievements was boosting Cruise's engagement with small anddisadvantaged businesses. By collaborating with GM, I increased theirprocurement share from 5% to over 25%, optimizing spend and fosteringpartnerships with VSOB, NMSDC, and LGBTBE enterprises.To improve the operational flow among Legal, Procurement, and Securitydepartments, I facilitated the implementation of the Cruise ContractLifecycle Management (CLM) system.

I had the opportunity to work closely with GM, transitioning contractownership to Cruise while driving the development of our autonomous vehiclefleet. To support this growth, I expanded our team by hiring additionalpersonnel, boosting our Global Supply Managers from 2 to 7.I got hands-on with identifying cost structures for all our vehicle modules,including LiDAR, RADAR, Camera arrays, and Compute modules. Plus, I managedour engagements with custom ASIC design partners and emerging tech.When we acquired personnel from Astyx, a RADAR company, I took the lead intraining them on Cruise’s processes, contracts, and vendor managementpractices. I also supervised our Supply Chain staff and kept everythingrunning smoothly with our overseas vendors.

I led sourcing strategies and conducted weekly reviews in both the US andChina. As the head of Block’s Sustainability team, I conducted audits,developed policies, and produced Square’s first Global Impact Report in2019. Collaborating closely with Finance, Legal, Tax, HR, and Internationalteams, I established a new Block office in China, managing everything fromscoping to onsite activities.I rolled out a quarterly OKR/KPI program and led a diverse team of GlobalSupply Managers, overseeing the procurement of over 300 BOM line items frommore than 100 suppliers. Partnering with Engineering and Software teams, Iselected manufacturing partners for custom ICs and SOC/chipset solutions.I initiated risk assessments across all Block hardware components andprovided strategic advice to Square's executives on BOM and supply chainmodifications. I also established an external warehouse, managed supplyconstraints, and created a buy-sell program to stabilize supply from at-risksuppliers.Additionally, I confirmed Master Development and Supply Agreements andbuffer agreements for Square BOMs. I also conducted manufacturer audits toimprove component selection and build strong supplier relationships.

2009 – 2013: I led strategic partnerships across key Apple divisions, includingengineering, legal, finance, and product operations, to strengthen supplierrelations in the board electrical commodity sector. I successfullynegotiated agreements with over sixty suppliers for more than a thousandactive components.I managed sensor products for Apple, including accelerometers, gyroscopes,compasses, ambient light sensors, proximity sensors, and emerging sensingtechnologies for iOS and Mac product lines. Collaborating with variousengineering teams, I assessed technical and business implications todetermine the current and future needs for Apple’s products.I developed strategies to mitigate cost, geographic, and financial risks. Bycultivating high-level executive relationships with vendors, conductingglobal factory audits, and coordinating business and technology reviews, Iensured alignment with Apple’s key stakeholders.In close collaboration with Apple’s design, product development, legal, andfinance teams, I crafted robust sourcing strategies for multipletechnologies to meet both immediate and long-term goals. I oversaw themanagement of board electrical components, including flash memory, timingproducts, power ICs, LEDs, and programmable ICs, across all Mac and iOSlines.
