Led the strategic planning, policy and program development, and human resource and financial management of the LGMA, a highly recognized non-profit professional association serving 1000+ senior managers in local governments across B.C. Supported the vision and direction of the LGMA Board of Directors and significantly improved governance practices, increased Association revenue by 50 per cent, demonstrated strong annual results-based performance reporting and delivered multiple new member supports and services over a 9-year tenure.

Led the promotion of British Columbia in key international markets to increase exports and attract investment. Led the engagement of diverse stakeholders in the strategic planning, design and implementation of the province’s International Marketing Strategy. Developed brand strategies and innovative marketing plans and promotional activities with diverse teams from government ministries and federal departments. Pioneered the use of digital marketing and social media in government for economic development and international trade and investment promotion.

Provided policy and strategic advice on social, economic and community development priorities, including housing for the homeless, illicit drug use and harm reduction strategies, and economic revitalization of urban core. Developed and managed collaborative internal and external stakeholder relations, including with municipal departments and committees, federal and provincial government ministries, regional governments, business groups and community agencies. Facilitated and sustained broad-based community dialogues to identify and implement priority social projects.

Contracted by inter-governmental agencies to work with public, private and non-governmental representatives to identify public policy goals, conduct needs assessments/research and determine technical, financial and human resource needs to achieve public policy reforms and institutional capacity-building for large international development projects.Designed community and stakeholder forums with all levels of government, non-governmental organizations and citizens. Conducted institutional assessments, program evaluations and project reviews for national/international organizations using results-oriented performance measures to determine program delivery, human resource development targets and financial management achievements.Designed and developed social/community strategies and programs, management community engagement strategies in support of community investment and infrastructure projects.

Managed over $1 million annually in technical assistance projects in four countries. Designed and implemented policy dialogues with public and private sector representatives, including indigenous communities, for poverty allevaition and large scale economic development projects.
