My responsibilities include modeling lessons for teachers using research based strategies to insure learning in the classroom. I will also monitor lessons and conduct weekly cluster meetings with classroom teachers to ensure that we are teaching and using the TAP model correctly and accurately.

Our after school tutoring program has been in progress for many years. This year we are reinforcing Common Core Standards introduced and taught in every grade. We are fortunate to have enough educators to work with our children and assist them with homework. There are two educators in every class. The first 40 minutes are dedicated to homework. Children are then divided into two rotating groups. Educators teach math/reading skills, reinforcing what they need based on their grade level.

I will be working with classroom teachers assisting them with the Common Core State Curriculum. I am blessed to have an eager, smart, and wonderful group of teachers to work with. I will also work with small groups of students during our exciting learning days!!!

What a terrific experience to go back to what I love to do!! TEACH STUDENTS. I am currently teaching 8th grade English Language Arts. I am an expert at using Common Core and the Louisiana Comprehensive Curriculum. (No brag, just fact). I have a great group of students who are fully prepared for high school. We have joined forces to make this an exciting and hard working year for all of us. There was so much catching up to do!!! Elementary and Middle School teachers really should work closer together........waiting patiently on our results!!

I teach teachers in weekly cluster meetings. In these meetings, teachers are introduced to the 3 TAP rubrics, and research based strategies to use with their students. I also field test a group of students using these strategies. I assist the teachers by modeling, team teaching, and observing their use of the strategies introduced to them. I also evaluate and observe teachers using the three rubrics. Post-conferences are held to discuss the lesson observed and how they can improve. In addition to these duties, other duties are given to me by the administration. I use whatever means I need to improve student achievement in the classroom.

I taught 8th graders using the Louisiana Comprehensive Curriculum. My job as an 8th grade teacher was to prepare my students for the state assessment. My students became proficient at writing and other areas listed in the LCC (Louisiana Comprehensive Curriculum)
