While I continue to maintain memberships and work with with MTI, WEAC, & SCBWI, life rolls on. After teaching youngsters in both Milwaukee & Madison for many years, it is time for my "next life": gardening, volunteering, writing, reading, and catching up on the quirky wisdom of my corgi, Scooter as he veers and darts and scoots on by, right out of my pen, and across my pages.

While working for this urban school district, I taught youngsters primarily in Full Day Kindergarten, but also in First Grade, and in K/1 Combination classroom settings. The students within my classrooms came from broad and diverse backgrounds, ability levels and needs. I was one of eighteen educators chosen in Wisconsin to represent Wisconsin’s education system under the direction of the then current State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Elizabeth Burmaster, and the then current Assistant State Superintendent Tony Evers. While overseas, I studied and immersed myself in the languages, heritages, and cultures of the people of Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. I taught 26 AM and 27PM youngsters in very active ½ day K programs full time at Longfellow School. This was my first taste of working with children of ethnically and economically diverse backgrounds, as I also was teaching students within a bilingual school setting. I also taught youngsters during two summer school programs.
