I am a globally recognized and experienced leader in developing and managing occupational/industrial hygiene and safety programs for small to multinational organizations. The current span of my work includes direct employment as an executive manager as well as consulting for many years. My skill sets for a wide variety of industries include developing health and safety programs, providing exposure evaluation and control services as well as developing and delivering H&S training to workers and EHS managers for all biological, physical and chemical hazards. Developing and managing a global occupational hygiene program at LafargeHolcim that spanned 85 countries began with performing a targeted gap assessment of program components and resulted in implementation of a program that each layer of the organization could understand and follow. The change management process that allowed implementation of standards, policies, tools and resources within the program required a communication plan that was effectively developed and executed. This process enabled the global organization to embrace effective approaches for the anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of workplace hazards associated with the cement manufacturing, aggregate, asphalt, construction, alternative fuel and cement terminal industries all over the world.

I was directly responsible for the development and implementation of the global occupational hygiene program directly impacting both highly potent large and small molecule containment, occupational hygiene staff professional development, and allocation of EHS capital project funding. The scope of this position required accountability for the evaluation of 13 primary and secondary manufacturing site occupational hygiene programs throughout the world via audit of monitoring plans, tracking of containment improvement plans and management of IH/OH service delivery.Highlight Accomplishments:• Developed, executed and sustained a highly potent compound containment risk management strategy engaging the engineering, operations and EHS communities to achieve a 50% improvement in potent compound containment across global manufacturing. • Developed and implemented AbbVie’s first key performance metrics for industrial hygiene based upon quantitative risk assessment of all primary and secondary manufacturing unit operations.• Implemented a sustainable industrial hygiene risk assessment strategy and tools to address prioritization of industrial hygiene goals and resources resulting in a 32% increase in manufacturing site exposure assessments and global program engagement.• Identify, prioritize and select highly potent compound containment improvement projects as a member of the team responsible for allocating $1.5MM annually for EHS projects.• Developed and refined the headquarter office ergonomic programming to address musculoskeletal needs throughout relocation of 6000 office staff per year during a major organizational transition.• Planned and conducted multiple one-week OHTA occupational hygiene training courses to standardize and improve EHS practice throughout global R&D, commercial and manufacturing businesses and provide a globally-recognized career development path for EHS professionals.

It was my privilege to be responsible for the management, marketing, business development of an IH consulting firm and provision of all industrial hygiene and safety services for over 215 general industry and military clients from 3 states. Technical services included VPP and H&S program development, exposure assessment monitoring, industrial and office ergonomics, hearing conservation and noise monitoring, explosive (UXO) hazardous waste operations, bloodborne pathogens and other biohazards, respiratory protection and fit testing, indoor air quality, safety training, and H&S program development and audits.
