Oversight of Union Health's clinical documentation improvement (CDI)/DRG Assurance (DRGA) and utilization review and management team. Involved in the initiation of Union's Computerized Assisted Coding (CAC) via the 3M 360 R2 Encompass Programs. Development of clinical DRG and medical necessity validation processes. Physician documentation improvement initiatives to support reimbursement, coding, mortality, severity-risk adjusted and quality initiatives. Implementation of redesign of the CDI, Utilization Management and concurrent denial management workflow and processes.

Program Manager and Principle Investigator for Indiana's Central Indiana Alliance (CIA4H) for Healthcare was part of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Aligning Forces for Quality Initiative. The CIA4H was committed to successfully engaging health providers and front-line practitioners in improving quality of care, particularly for those in disparate groups, and to engaging consumers in accessing and using information regarding health care performance measures to effectively manage their own health care.With funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the group combines the strength of multi-stakeholders from key organizations within the Indianapolis region and state, including Health Care Excel, the Indiana Health Information Exchange, the Indiana Minority Health Coalition, the Indiana Coalition for Patient Safety, Indiana Patient Safety Center, Indiana Hospital Association, Indiana State Department of Health, and the State of Indiana.

Oversight of quality improvement projects for the Medicare Quality Improvement Organizations (QIO) for the states of Indiana & Kentucky. Programs focused won working with targeted providers to ensure FFS Hospitals were compliant with the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Regulatory guidance relate to potential payment error, appropriate level of care and DRG validation. Including assessing provider risk of potential payment error in relationship to Clinical DRG Validation, Medical Necessity and monitoring of Corrective Action Plans. Program Manager for QIO/CMS special focus projects and initiatives aimed at improving healthcare across levels of care, testing new models of transitional care and reducing readmissions from 2006 to 2013 for the states of Indiana & Kentucky.Clinical Coordinator for Indiana Hospital Quality Improvement Reporting Initiatives. Vast experience in public speaking and educational program planning on topics related to CMS regulatory guidance and transitional care.
