Draft decisions in all types of appeals, including those of exceptional difficulty, complexity or controversy, for review by a Veterans Law Judge. Consult on laws and regulations pertaining to Veterans benefits, as set forth in Title 38 of the United States Code and the Code of Federal Regulations; the precedent decisions of the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC), the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (Federal Circuit), and the United States Supreme Court; and the precedent decisions of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) General Counsel. Review and evaluate the credibility and probative value of medical and lay evidence in claims files. Draft a high volume of tentative appellate decisions based on that review. Also, conduct research on questions encountered in case review or as requested by the Veterans Law Judge.

Serve as a FINRA-certified Arbitrator selected to hear cases involving disputes between investors and financial brokers and brokerages in order to protect investors and preserve market integrity.  Arbitrators serve as the decision makers for disputes, and hear all sides of the case, study the evidence and render final and binding decisions in accordance with FINRA rules and federal securities laws.
