I spent 27 years in the Law Enforcement Field between two different jobs. In late 2006, I broke my back and in early 2007, I had my first of six back surgeries. I was retired in 2007, as a result of my back injury. I had a teen-aged son at the time and I needed to find something to do that made me feel useful again; even if walking and standing was an issue. There had to be sometime I could do that filled the void my injury had suddenly created in my life. Something I could do in-spite of my health issues/restrictions. I picked up a camera and I started taking photos again. I had at one time been a great photographer and did wedding photos as a side profession. So I hoped it would be like riding a bike after a long break. Indeed it was. I have found purpose and joy in taking photos to share with others. I can do it at my own pace. I love to see my world through my camera lenses.
