A fast learner, the Administrative Assistants looked up to me, asking me for help when dealing with dockets, travel or finance issues. I made sure they were updated on what the Executive Office expected of them in dealing with correspondence and making sure they were all trained properly for docket handling. I was trained to become a trainer for Ministerial Correspondence. In the past, I have worked for the Minister of Health, the Honourable Leona Aglukkaq at the time of the H1N1 crisis, which I have dealt a lot of time with sensitive materials, meeting with several key stakeholders and made sure that her heavy and constant changing schedule was done properly. I know the travel system well, and have trained other colleagues on this. My Regional Director and Senior Program Manager had no problems with his travel or expense claims. I work overtime in my current acting position as well as my substantive, where we are travelling to the communities so that our clients can obtain their Secure Certificate of Indian Status as well as receiving their Treaty Annuity Payments. I am called upon at the last minute at times to work overtime and I am willing and able to do so.ConclusionI am highly qualified who likes challenges and dealing with new systems. I have been with the Federal Government for 20 years with an extensive background in programs, finance, administration and human resources. My interpersonal skills are excellent; I am a quick learner who deals with change without hesitation. I am Aboriginal and can speak in two languages; Inuktitut and English. I have extensive contacts with other departments across Canada whom I have worked with or dealt with in the past. My current and past Regional Director General has praised me in my work ethics, my professionalism, my interpersonal skills and my dealings with my employees
