1986-2003: While fulfilling five increasingly responsible roles at College of DuPage, I structured and led interdisciplinary project development teams to design and implement more than 600 competitive education and economic development programs that procured more than $85 million in federal, state, and private funding. My responsibilities included:• Development of long term institutional fundraising strategy to sustain strategic goals.• Management College of DuPage Foundation Board's activities including committee meetings, workshops, and fundraising projects; facilitation of Board and Executive Committee work groups; advancement of all Board activities, including policy revision and fundraising.• Increasing the Foundation’s endowment by exceeding College of DuPage's first $5M capital campaign goal.• Preparation and management of $1.5 million department budget as part of the college’s revenue and expenditures budgets of approximately $200 million; ensurement of compliance for $10 million in newly funded projects annually. • Writing and supervision of report production; writing talking points and presentations for president, Board of Trustees, and Foundation Board, including the first (1999) and two subsequent Annual Reports for the College’s Foundation.

• Researched and analyzed higher education trends, best practices, and program development models for officers, faculty and staff; defined and prioritized institutional program and curriculum development for strategic fundraising. • Improved program and curriculum design and program evaluation practices to ensure successful implementation and developed evaluation plans to support learning outcomes that contributed to achieving the College’s academic, vocational and lifelong learning goals. • Refined program and curriculum design and evaluation practices to ensure successful implementation when projects were funded. • Collaborated with program and curriculum development teams and community partners: (1) built a case for funding each project, (2) identified the best prospective donors and potential funding sources for the projects, and (3) helped resolve differences of opinion in ways that would strengthen programs, partnerships, and institutional outcomes. • Ensured institutional compliance by monitoring programmatic progress and fiscal activity for 50 or more externally funded projects at any time. • Wrote institutional fundraising policies in cooperation with Treasurer and Chief Accountant.

• Managed and evaluated five BPI business assistance programs that increased education services 68% in two years, serving 4,801 business persons in FY88 and 8,054 in FY89. • Applied trade specialist training (American Graduate School of International Management) to obtain funding and develop trade assistance program awarded status of Illinois's first International Trade Center and Illinois World Trade Center Satellite Office; model replicated at two universities and in City of Chicago, IL. • Wrote grant proposals that increased annual funding 59%. The increase enabled planning and developing two new business development programs: an International Trade Center and Procurement Assistance Center.• Identified trade opportunity through consultation with local officials in Walloon, Belgium, obtained State of Illinois funding, and implemented a Belgian trade mission that resulted in joint ventures for three DuPage County, IL optoelectronics manufacturers.

• Designed and implemented business counseling model to broker research services to businesses seeking university and federal laboratory research assistance through Illinois's technology network.

• Collaborated with Dean and faculty to refine existing administrative processes and develop new ones. • Spearheaded and supported curriculum development with 40 faculty members at New Jersey School of Architecture to meet accreditation standards.• Led fundraising from the business community for student study abroad scholarships and instituted award policy and process.
