I am the innovative Founder and Chief Executive of the UK’s leading specialist SME environmental consultancy, committed to helping clients achieve their ambitions in an environmentally responsible and sustainable way. A pioneer in my sector, I have built my expertise during my 40-year career in this area – starting with the launch of my own first business at a time when few others were active in this field. Visionary and entrepreneurial, I am particularly effective working under pressure to tight deadlines on ‘impossible’ challenges that others believe can’t be done. Our track record includes transformational work across all ecosystems. In July 2020 we transformed ourselves by becoming employee-owned.Post-Covid, our EIA team is also helping future-focused clients to benefit from the increased awareness of climate change – and the challenges and opportunities presented by carbon zero projects. With our deep understanding of the shift in mood epitomised by Greta Thunberg, Sir David Attenborough, Extinction Rebellion and the pandemic lockdown, we are perfectly positioned to work with clients who also believe the time is now. As a member of the UK’s All Party Parliamentary Group on Biodiversity, I enjoyed sharing my insight with a diverse range of senior policy makers. At a national level, I welcome being part of the ongoing debate around how we can all work most sustainably together to tackle the real challenges we now face. Beyond work, I have spent five years sailing around the world on a 50-foot steel cutter and taken part in the Glen Nevis River Race. I have also canoed across Scotland and cycled the length of the Outer Hebrides.
