`Venice Biennale Fellowship
I undertook the Venice Biennale Fellowship with the British Council in September 2022. The Venice Biennale Fellowships Programme with the British Council is a key part of the British Council's presence at the Venice Biennale; a scheme for early career creatives to spend a month working at the Biennale, supporting the British Pavilion exhibition programme. The experience was a balance of working at the British Pavilion, invigilating Sonia Boyce's 'Feeling Her Way', managing visitor engagement and maintenance of the exhibition, as well as conducting my own creative research project. I feel so lucky to have been present for Cecilia Alemani's curation, 'Milk of Dreams', as her themes resonated so strongly with my practice, richly informing my research into ecofeminism, contemporary spiritualities and community of care while I was there. This research project greatly informed practice, my first project following being 'room in the bag of stars', a title borrowed from Ursula K Le Guin's 'Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction'.
