Responsible for administering the college-wide internship and professional experiences program. Thisposition works closely with department chairs, center directors, and industry to identify internship/professional experience opportunities. This position also works closely with students and faculty to facilitate industry/agency placements for the purpose of providing enhanced academic experiences through hands-on learning.

➢ Provides general academic, personal, financial, and career advising to "at risk" populations (e.g., low-income, first-generation college, and underrepresented populations) ➢ Serve as point of contact for students in poor academic standing (Subject to Academic Dismissal and Academic Probation) ➢ Helps students in critical transition stages, including First Year SD and Academic Probation students, Reinstated from Dismissal students, and students returning from the Educational Leave Program ➢ Serves as the primary contact for students seeking support & conduct follow-up and outreach to students within program ➢ Assess appropriate needs of students including but not limited to accessibility services, financial aid, career services, academic advising, and tutoring ➢ Develops and leads success workshops (i.e. managing the transition from high school to the university environment, utilizing campus resources, being a successful college student, campus community outreach, personal development, career exploration) ➢ Assists with students' educational development using assessment and evaluation tools to assist students in planning for future coursework and experiences with a focus on academic success. ➢ Monitors students' academic progress and assists students in developing problem-solving and self-management skills ➢ Establishes and maintains partnerships with campus and community programs to provide resources to students within the special programs ➢ Maintain tracking system for student information, progress and contact monitoring. Research, extract, compile, and summarize information from a variety of sources to prepare reports and information for the unit ➢ Responsible for updating the website content for the EXCEL! Program and draft correspondence and communications to internal and external units as requested

➢ Responsible for understanding the needs and differences of children to reach and motivate them to ensure equitable support➢ Engage roughly 20-50 K-12 children enrolled in out of school time program through classroom activities to stimulate growth, learning, collaboration and foster excellent behavior and leadership skills

➢ Create programming and events for over 200 University 1 students enrolled in MentorU program➢ Plan and implement a​ t least 6​ program events per semester through collaboration with different on-campus resources➢ Create and present on 2 staff training modules.➢ Supervise group of 4-7 student staff through 1:1 check-in, evaluate work performance and provide written feedbackreport to ensure quality leadership and engagement occurs in mentorship.➢ Manage social media sites for student engagement to execute program promotion through a technological platform➢ Collaborate with Assistant Coordinator and University 1 Faculty to implement program events➢ Track mentee participation through acquired dataset in accordance to policy & procedures➢ Create assessments to evaluate student engagement, program performance and deliverance of services

➢ Responsible for engaging with and mentoring 50 students per semester➢ Meet with students in 1:1 and responsible for providing academic/career counseling➢ Refer students to campus resources and consult on internship application development➢ Responsible for outreach to UC Merced students and campus organizations➢ Provide support and resource for students on academic probation and/or experiencing academic difficulty➢ Develop relationships and provide opportunities for problem solving, idea share and goal planning➢ Collaborate with STEP staff in development and delivery of program
