Owner and head instructor at Language and Literacy Learning PE. I help newcomer students of all ages learn and enhance their knowledge and ability in English as an Additional Language, as well as French as an Additional Language. I teach in person one-on-one, in small groups, as well as online using various modes of e-learning. My goal is to help students acquire the language skills they need to better function in their daily school experience and daily lives. I help students develop their social language skills, while also helping them acquire more challenging academic language needed to thrive in their school and/or work environment.I am a professional with 32 years of experience in teaching at the primary, elementary, intermediate and senior high levels. I have taught numerous subjects in both the regular English stream and French Immersion stream. For the last third of my career, I have taught English Second Language/English as an Additional Language to newcomer students within the public school system, as well as privately after school. I have previously worked towards building an online marketing business. I have also spent several summers creating a successful 5 star vacation home rental business. I know what it takes to work hard, how to persevere and work through the inevitable challenges that entrepreneurship can bring, and the feeling of success and joy when goals are met. I enjoy being a team player and helping others is a big part of who I am as a person. I am also very comfortable working independently.
