If reading is FUNdamental, then writing is an adventure. What could be better than creating a world totally of your own making? A writer creates a story about lives, actions, places, and events that may or may not happen in real life. My favorite is time travel. When I tour a historical home, I don't just take in the history I'm told during the tour. I imagine the people who lived there and what they wore. I not only imagine the daily routine of that time, but also how they entertained, and how their holidays were celebrated. I wrote a novel about present-day people who go back in time. They travel back over a hundred years and encounter ancestors they only knew through old photographs and painted portraits.
