I lead a company that helps leaders understand and leverage the human, emotional reactions to organizational change so that they achieve results faster, with less frustration & resistance. Whether you're driving change or feel like change is driving you, we can help. I was named one of Enterprising Women Magazine's 2024 Enterprising Women of the Year. As CEO and Founder of CSR Communications, a boutique organizational change consultancy, I design our proprietary processes in strategic planning, leadership development and communications; lead our team of consultants to deliver results for our clients; drive business development and growth; and provide thought leadership via podcast appearances, speaking engagements & articles. In 2018, I created the Intrapreneurs Influence Lab, a hands-on change leadership program, plus a network of fellow intrapreneurs leading big change to make their organizations more effective, innovative, equitable, inclusive, environmentally sustainable, ethical and socially responsible. I spent a decade+ in consulting firms, leading APCO Worldwide’s corporate responsibility practice and then heading the D.C. office for Portland-based Metropolitan Group. Clients included UPS, Johnson Controls, Freddie Mac, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, American Public Health Foundation and Annie E. Casey Foundation. I served as executive vice president and senior advisor for social innovation at Grantmakers for Effective Organizations and led international grantmaking for the Steve and Jean Case Foundation, in addition to grantmaking and policy roles in national service and service-learning. I earned a master’s degree in public affairs from University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School, a master’s in health communication from Boston University, and a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from University of Dayton. I served on the board of the global nonprofit Pact from 2013-March 2020, including six years as board chair. I joined the Atlas Corps board in January 2020 and board of the Annapolis Film Festival in 2023. Chief Executive OfficerCsr Communications May 2014 - PresentWashington, Dc, UsI'm an entrepreneur, former intrapreneur, trainer, speaker, advisor and mentor helping mission-driven organizations and socially-conscious businesses achieve their next big initiative to rapidly expand their impact. I founded CSR Communications to help organizations move beyond grand gestures and bold statements, to organizational change that sticks. I've spent my career career saying what others are afraid to – and learning to say it in ways that others will listen. From challenging stereotypes of girls in my Catholic school more than 30 years ago, to my first job after college convincing nonprofits to engage youth volunteers, or my role as board chair of a global nonprofit transforming the way we do international development, I've experienced the challenges of leading big change within established organizations. I've learned lots of lessons, developed techniques that work -- and I'm willing to share them with others. I've has worked with global nonprofits, foundations, Fortune 100 companies, local governments, and federal agencies. I created the Intrapreneurs Influence Lab to provide internal change leaders the skills, support and insight they need to realize their vision with less isolation, frustration and resistance. -
