About Nancy Ann Smith
NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) decided to offer the community a series of information sessions on writing to encourage the healthy interest that they saw in their clients and families and community. My husband and I have presented two four session series of writing experiences that stretched though September and October of 2014 and April and May of 2015. These were great opportunities to promote correct writing skills, and the evaluations showed that everyone gained something from the series.This led to a writers' group, now known as Magic Quill, which gave further practice and encouraging writers to value their writing. The group published an Anthology, Writings by Everyday People in 2022, and is working on a second Anthology. The book is available at several local libraries.
