Deas Concerto Competition twice). She has been successful in several international and national competitions. Like many of the celebrated major pianists of the 20th century, Nancy is a direct pedagogical descendent of Franz Liszt and his pupils.Nancy earned a M.M. degree in collaborative piano from UNC-Greensboro, studying with Jim Douglass and Andrew Harley; and a B.M. in piano performance, with Honors, summa cum laude from UNC-Wilmington, studying with Barry Salwen. She also studied piano performance at the Conservatoire de Montreux, Switzerland, studying with Marc-Henri Aubert. Nancy has also participated in masterclasses with Barbara Bonney, Alan Smith, Harold Heiburg, and Walter Moore.She was also a recipient of a research fellowship for her work on a critical edition of an original Liszt manuscript at Yale University.
