In my role as a Regional Communications Adviser for The Department of Corrections in the South Island, I've taken on a variety of responsibilities to enhance our communication efforts. This includes crafting and strategizing content for sharing across different platforms, including social media, with the aim of engaging our audience effectively. I've also worked closely with a diverse set of stakeholders, including media, to ensure our positive messages have a broad impact while managing potential risks. Alongside this, I've had the opportunity to design visually appealing documents, presentations, and web content to boost engagement within our teams. Additionally, I've been actively involved in visually documenting our initiatives, from taking photos to creating impactful videos, all of which have played a significant role in spreading our department's messages.

My role at Dori Apparel has been both dynamic and impactful, given the brand's diverse customer base, catering to both B2B and B2C segments. Leading the marketing and digital communication efforts for Dori Apparel has been an exciting endeavor. I took charge of creating and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that encompassed interactions with customers, suppliers, and all staff, fostering cohesion across the organization. Notably, I developed various email flows complete with templates, which have become essential tools for our customer service team. These templates not only ensure consistency in our communications but also boost engagement and conversions. I also assume the responsibility of crafting a weekly marketing email, from designing graphics to crafting compelling content. Building and nurturing relationships with our suppliers and core customers has been a priority, allowing me to better understand and serve our customers' needs. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in the reconstruction of the Dori Apparel website, focusing on optimizing menu structures, enhancing the customer journey, and creating persuasive landing pages and sign-up forms that reinforce our brand messaging. To support our staff in delivering the best possible service, I have curated and continually update a comprehensive "knowledge base" of information, ensuring adherence to best practices throughout the organization.

My role as a multi-media modern journalism tutor at Wintec was a rewarding experience that allowed me to share my expertise and passion for journalism with aspiring students. Following my departure from Stuff, where I had maintained connections with my former tutors at Wintec, I was offered the opportunity to become a tutor. This role provided me with valuable opportunities to refine my communication skills and develop effective teaching techniques for diverse learning styles. I had the privilege of guiding and mentoring a group of enthusiastic multimedia journalism students, helping them enhance their writing skills through content editing and constructive feedback. I also focused on equipping them with essential skills, including conducting interviews, source management, and story development. Furthermore, I imparted knowledge about digital best practices, encompassing both online journalism and social media platforms, ensuring that they were well-prepared for the ever-evolving landscape of modern journalism.

My responsibilities included deciding what content should be shared on social media and how it should be presented, whether through images, videos, links or other engaging content. I also was in charge of editing and publishing user-generated content, making sure it was reader-friendly and selecting appropriate images to complement the stories. I enjoyed brainstorming creative ways to present complex information on various platforms to effectively convey the story's message. Collaborating closely with journalists and editors, I worked to boost audience engagement. Furthermore, I kept an eye on social media for news tips and swiftly forwarded relevant leads to the appropriate teams. To ensure we stayed on top of global events, I regularly monitored overseas media, allowing us to stay responsive and up-to-date with breaking news.
