My first job was secretary in a Macmillan Publishers research dept. Three months in my boss left. They gave me his job and whole dept. to run. Thus began my career.With a dedication to learning & hard work I rapidly grew professionally. After 3 years I started looking for bigger challenges. I worked as production manager (Conover Mast), producer - radio & TV commercials (NYC office of Detroit agency), & circulation manager of financial newsletter (International Moneyline). When that business moved to Wall St. the owner put me in charge as General Manager.I ran the company + marketing + client relations. Via my cold calling efforts & direct mail, we began managing investment accounts, sold numismatics, published books & hosted seminars. I’d launch each ancillary business then train people to run it. Moneyline grew from $9M to a steady $75M annual revenue. I left after 7 yrs. to freelance my services.I took on small business clients serving both B2C & B2B markets in a variety of industries. Accomplishments included:>>> Replacing 2-step direct mail campaign (costing up to $1500/lead) with new package: returns up 300%; costs avg. $460/lead; revenues grew from $7.5M to $30M in 3 yrs.>>> Creating statistical models (before computers) to accurately predict revenues 1 mo. out & identify trends that could affect business 3 mo. out, providing plenty of time to take action & limit risk.>>> Reorganizing a company’s product lines making it possible to market their full range of products & services in a manner relevant to prospects.
