Nancy is a private educator, mediator and author based in Southern Chester County, PA. She mediates special education disputes with the PA Office for Dispute Resolution, provides subject matter expertise, and teaches online as adjunct graduate faculty for the conflict management program at Sullivan University (KY). Nancy’s career bridges student conduct and conflict management from a foundation of restorative and social justice. She co-edited Reframing Campus Conflict: Student Conduct Practice through a Social Justice Lens (Stylus 2009) and is a policy and systems consultant and speaker on the integration of inclusive conflict management practices. She provides a balanced voice in the renewed dialogue on Title IX and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) legislation and mandates on college campuses. Nancy earned her Doctor of Education Degree from the University of Delaware while a Conflict Resolution Program Associate. She taught in the master’s program, mediated disputes for the Delaware Department of Education, and facilitated statewide problem-solving. Doctoral research on building collaborative capacity in individualized education program meetings helped shape state-wide facilitation and training. Nancy holds additional degrees in Counseling and Psychology. Nancy was UD Assistant Dean (student conduct) for over a decade and was awarded the prestigious Institutional Award for Women’s Equity in recognition of campus advocacy including multi-year terms as chair: Appellate Judicial Board, Council for Student Judicial Affairs, annual Sexual Assault Awareness Weeks. Nancy provided national leadership in the Association for Student Conduct Administration. She co-chaired two summer institutes, coordinated conflict resolution faculty and served as annual faculty; was program chair for two annual conferences; and was elected to a three year board position as president.
