Historically, there were over 20 milk banks in Canada. The first to open was in Vancouver and it was the only one to remain open for over 30 years. All the other banks were closed as a result of the HIV/Aids scare in the 1980s.We are getting closer to opening our very own Human Milk Bank in Nova Scotia.
