About Nancy Hitzig
I am deeply passionate and a leader and have recently joined Stonewall's new executive leadership team as Director of Programmes & Income. Previously, I was the Head of Philanthropy at Tate - working across all four galleries and leading the major gifts team working across exhibition programmes, learning, conservation, archive, apprenticeships, strategic capital projects and legacies.I am also the Co-Artistic Director of a female led swing dance and theatre company called Swing, Sister, Swing, the host of an arts funding podcast by the same name and was the Creative Director for Dance for VE Day, a national project bringing together local practitioners and participants in all 48 counties of England, commissioned by English Heritage. Formerly, I was the Philanthropy Manager at English Heritage and Director of Development at City of London Sinfonia, a leading chamber Orchestra in the UK and abroad. I originally came to England to study and completed my Master of International Marketing at HULT International Business School in San Francisco, California and London, England. Since then, I have built a consulting practice for companies on the topics of leadership, strategy, income generation, marketing and communications and coach over 1,000 people per annum on how to build their 'mixed economy' and budget for their work. Clients include: Arts Council England, ERA Architects, Musicians Union, the British Council, Clore Leadership, Sound Connections, the National Trust, Thompson Reuters Foundation, Soho House, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and Young Music Makers. In Toronto, I found my fundraising acumen as the Development Officer for the Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC), a national, non-profit organisation that engages Canadians in citizenship through innovative programs, campaigns and partnerships.Alongside my work at the ICC, I was the volunteer General Manager for Against the Grain Theatre, a Dora Mavor Moore award winning, cutting-edge Canadian theatre collective. Across my fundraising career - I have raised more than £25M for charities.
